Best friends become embittered enemies become rival gangsters in Busted Life, an independent film that deftly balances the border between two unique cinematic perspectives. On one hand, the gangland themes of corrupt cops and drug deals gone awry keeps in tone with expectations of American audiences, while the muted, subdued and often-unpredictable design of the movie lends to its foreign nature.
Writer/producer Austin Chima’s debut film depicts life as told from the point of view of two very different yet tight-knit men. Nollywood veteran Ramsey Nouah (Uzor) convincingly portrays a man who, rather than letting himself be broken by betrayal, is instead motivated by it to rise up to a position of power.
